BR Cohn '21 Sonoma County Zinfandel
This Zinfandel is a deep ruby red color with complex aromas of blackberry, raspberry, and a hint of vanilla oak. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied with medium tannins and a balanced acidity. Bold and ripe flavors offer notes of black cherry, raspberry jam, and a hint of black pepper spice. The oak aging adds a subtle vanilla sweetness that rounds out the flavors and creates a wine that is both intense and well-rounded. A long and lingering finish gives the wine a slightly warm and inviting character.
Our Sonoma County Zinfandel is a blend of the best vineyards throughout Sonoma. A combination of mature south-facing and low-yield blocks produce ripe, concentrated fruit. The wine was fermented in small open top fermenters. Caps are manually punched to ensure good extraction. After fermentation, must is free ran and lightly pressed, settled, and racked to barrels. Aged 18 months in 50% new and 50% 1 year old Demptos Reserve, Fouquet Marguaux, and Seguin Moreau barrels. Tight grain, 3 year air dried wood only.
