BR Cohn '21 Sonoma Valley Olive Hill Malbec

Malbec is known for its deep color and intense fruit flavors. Our 2021 Olive Hill Estate Malbec is also blended with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is a deep, dark purple color that is almost black in the glass with aromas of blackberry, plum, and black cherry, with a secondary hint of spice. The wine’s palate is full-bodied and well-structured. The flavors of dark fruit dominate, and there are also hints of vanilla and oak that add a subtle sweetness to the wine.

Picking our vineyards not only based on ripeness but even more important at the right moment of flavor development begins the process of great wine. During harvest we keep close eyes on fermentation temperatures and our yeasts progress, hoping to hit the ideal timing and temperature for ideal flavor development and extraction.  After fermentation is complete the wine will age in some of our favorite French oak to add character and complexity.
